 News & Updates:

05 January 2009:

Happy New Year! Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has supported Blooddrop during 2008 and made it a great year filled with lots of work!

Now, a few little bits and pieces. There are going to be a few changes to the Bath & Perfume side of things.
~More scents will go, new scents will come.  The Winter 2008 scents will be available until January 31st or while supplies last. Valentine scents will be arriving soon!
~The Mousse de Bain is being removed from the website. I cannot say if this will be permanent or not. The numbers simply say this is an expensive item for me to offer to you and it does not sell as well as it should. So, you have until the 15th of January to order it and then I will pull it from the site. I hope to be able to offer it again, perhaps in select scents and a 4oz jar, instead of 8oz.
~Blooddrop Etsy! I have opened a Blooddrop Etsy store! There is nothing there now, but I will be stocking it with left over limited editions, leftover catalogue scents, small batch oils and bath goods, some select Etsy-only scents, etc.  I really love shopping from Etsy and I want to introduce Blooddrop to other fellow Etsians! As you can imagine, the address is:
http://blooddrop.etsy.com

Please see the Sales and Accoutrements pages for further reductions!

Corsetty business! I am still not taking any new orders. I *am* getting close to finishing up my order queue. I don't know what I was thinking when I thought I could finish everything all up over the *holidays*. Seriously, Astrid, cause you've got nothing to do during that time of the year! Anyways, I am cruising, sewing, cutting, ironing, lacing and shipping and if you think your order should be coming up, it probably is! I will definitely not be accepting new orders before February and possibly not before March, but do feel free to email me and ask questions or share an idea!

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful 2009 that I hope is filled with many great inspirations, surprising learning experiences, and moments to appreciate the small things that bring us joy and carry us through the hard times. I have used this quote before, but it bears repeating, "Be the change you wish to see in the World." (Mahatma Ghandi)

Frosty bisous,
Astrid ; }

~I am happy to overnight and express ship by special request!
~Blooddrop will be semi-closed between 22Dec - 05Jan. We will accept orders, but they will not begin to be processed and filled until 05Jan09. Please expect a possible delay with email responses. This little semi-closure is to allow me to wrap up any outstanding corset orders and enjoy the holidays!

Thanks for your cooperation, support and I look forward to serving you this holiday season and the year to come!!

Bisous,
Astrid : }

12  November 2008:

Ok,  the Autumnal scents are officially coming down on December 1st. I am hoping there will be some overlap with the Winter limited editions. I've been delayed with those thanks to a cold which shot my nose to hell.

Anyone in the area interested in attending my Open House on Saturday, November 22nd from 1-4pm? Email me for an invite! You can sniff whatever you'd like and order accordingly! Champagne, treats and free kitty love for your enjoyment. Plus, you can see the Purple Farmhouse in person!

I am still not taking on any corset orders. Sorry ladies!

29 October 2008: Bootiful & Creepily Quick!

A quickie update because I'm super busy, but I've got some last minute things to share with you!

Firstly, Dances of Vice! Friday they are having a Murder Mystery night to celelbrate Halloween and I couldn't resist whipping up something special for them! So, we have two very limited edition fragrances to celebrate: Alibi and Red Handed! They will be available at Dances of Vice and here while supplies last. And let me say, they have been made in wicked limited amounts.

Secondly, as I was working a little while ago, I came up with a fun way to celelbrate Halloween:
Come trick or treating at Blooddrop's house! What might you get? Well, there will certainly be some nifty goodies such as the whole set of Halloween Tea Party scents or perhaps a Huile de Luxe or maybe just a cute little image wishing you a Happy Halloween or maybe a gift certificate! How does this work?
On Friday the 31st, simply email Blooddrop with 'Trick or Treat!" in the subject line.
In the body of the message enter your email address, full name and mailing address.
Random emails will be chosen to receive goodies!
One email entry per person/household. Not all trick-or-treaters will receive something.
If you are to receive something by mail, you will be notified during the first week of November. (I have to go to a wedding this weekend and then there's election day, so expect a day or two after that!)
Winners will be listed here (first name and state)!
Email entries failing to meet the basic entry requirements will be deleted, burned, quartered and put in the disposal.

Happy Halloween everyone!!
Astrid :}

22 September 2008:

Happy Autumn! Today, the summer scents left us, the two Dances of Vice scents have passed and there was an unexpected discontinuation of Country Bumpkin due to one of the ingredients being no longer available. I will see if I can reformulate it, but for now, dites au revoir to that one. Contempt, the scent for Contempt's 10th anniversary is here for one month!

Enjoy! : }

09 September 2008:

The Autumnal oilies are here!  (Plus one more to come in a few days...a wonderful hard cider scent!!)
Returning from last year are the Cemetary scents (minus Les Catacombes) and so are Blooddrop's Halloween Tea Party scents. Many thanks to the members on Salon Blooddrop for helping me decide!

There are also some brand new Autumnal scents and some new additions for the Huiles de Luxe that are also seasonally inspired. I am very, very excited about all these new scents, but if you must try one, then it must be Pumpkin! Just close your eyes and click buy with that one! Coffin is really special, too, and so is The Pheasants. On me, I get the loveliest of dry downs: an orange spice tea scent. It's perfect for the upcoming seasons and will even keep you cozy through the long winter months.

Please make a note that the summer limited editions and the Dances of Vice scents  will  pass away in to the ether after the 21st.

For the time being, I am not accepting any new corset orders unless I have already been discussing such an order with you. (I can only think of a small handful of you who fall in to this catagory. If you're not sure, email me!) This is for me to catch up on outstanding orders and get ahead. This year has been quite a debacle on the corset side of things and I aim to clear it up and start on the right foot once my current list of orders are squared away. If you would like to be notified when I am accepting orders again or would like to plan an order, please feel free to email me. I am still happy to discuss corset orders! Of course, you can purchase gift certificates towards a corset order, but would not be able to use it until I am accepting orders again.

There will be a new special event scent coming soon for Contempt NY's anniversary!

Plus lots of general fun Halloweenie goodness with your bath & perfume orders. When you open up your order box, you'll be tickled orange and black!

Sticky, marshmallow kisses,
Astrid : }

21 August 2008:

The Dances of Vice fragrances are now available for purchase! (Oui, one day sooner than planned!) They will be available until the 21st of September, when the Summer limited edition fragracances will also come down. Please note there are no sample sizes available for the Dances of Vice scents and they are not available as bath products. They are only available as perfume oils. These two are really wonderful scents and it is my hope that you will enjoy them immensely! May all the DOV attendees have a great time this weekend!!

Astrid : }

14 August 2008:

The fragrances will be sold in special 5ml limited edition amber bottles with very special silver old school apothecary tops! Bottles cost $10 each, but could have been easily priced higher with the fancy schmancy ingredients that were used to make them!

For the time being, the fragrances will only be available during the Dances of Vice festival and here at Blooddrop beginning on August 22nd and until September 21st. We may see to release the fragrance again at a later date, but no promises will be made!

Upon making these scents, I set out to remain true to Blooddrop, but to allow Dances of Vice and it's themes, imagery and guests to inspire me. This is what came of that.....

The Devilish Rapscallion of Heartsbury Heights
Indeed he was a troublesome rogue, albeit dashingly good looking and with a smart sense of dress. The careless and irresponsible man left unpaid bills and IOU’s across town and throughout the city in bars, restaurants, haberdasheries and the occasional veterinarian office as he had a weakness for homeless and mistreated pups. (A sign of his own troubled childhood.) Of course, let us not also forget the broken hearts of ingénues and the seething, fist-shaking fathers of said ingénues. His best trait, other than helping poor dogs and avoiding jail, was his ability to coax others into talking about their regrets and misgivings, as if he were some sort of psychiatrist, and helping them overcome those past misfortunes. It was with this ability that he left others feeling better about themselves and, hence, less likely to go after the man and his outstanding bills. The fragrance of the Devilish Rogue of Heartsburty Heights is complex like his behavior with a combination of well-to-do and decadent ingredients. Blue musk, rosewood, white cognac absolute, black pepper, labdanum absolute, vetiver, spruce, bergamot and gurjum balsam.

The Imminent Seduction of Miss Violet Featherbox to Impropriety
It all began as all ingénue stories begin: a lovely young lady leaves her small hometown for the brighter lights and busier streets of the metropolis so as to make her way in theatre. “Can you act, dance and sing?” says the ad in the paper. You betcha she can! Only Violet comes to discover the theatre she’s applying to isn’t the gilded ceiling opera house she was expecting. The old vaudevillian theatre was tattered as were those practicing some racy routine that involved pasties and a giant flower very precisely placed. Well, it would do for a little while she thought. Of course, a little while turned into a long while. Friends were made who showed her a nightlife even later to the one of her theatre job and they introduced her to things you drink and things you smoke that make you forget how tired you are after shaking your tops and bottoms off all night and make you forget about little whiles and long whiles. But the next day, you never forget how forgetting makes you feel. Yet, you never remember about forgetting when you’re with your friends. Miss Featherbox’s fragrance is her downward spiral from grace, hope and innocence to depravity, drinking and distraction. Vanilla blossom, Arabian musk, white lotus absolute, rose damask absolute, jasmine sambac absolute, white cognac absolute and cocoa absolute.

01 August 2008:

Happy Lughnasa and Solar Eclipse Day! Well, this has been a slightly hellish week for me! Not only did I have to go in a give 900 billion schmillion gallons of blood, but my computer died during a power outage/surge! And then there's the fact we have no roof over our living room, but we did actually *plan* on that happening. The compooter dying did set me back a liitle bit, but I am getting back on track aye sappy!

Emails will go out this weekend with letting peeps know how many bottles of perfume they've earned during the Friend Referral Month! This has been bunches of fun, so I will definitely do it again in the future.

The beginning of this month brings a handful of nifty new scents including the long-awaited birth of the Elixirs pour l'Homme (mens fragrances). The first two of this series are now available and have been tested by Blooddrop's Delivery Boy and our Filthy Martini Drinking Comerade. (Our comerade is not filthy, only the martinis are.)

I am also pleased to annouce Blooddrop's participation in Lemming Central.com's August Sampler Boxes! Maybe you're one of the lucky 60 to receive a special Blooddrop packette filled with a Mousse de Bain sample and two *EXTRA* large sample vials of  perfume!

I've also been scheming with Dances of Vice.com's hostess and manager, Miss Shein, on a special fragrance collaboration for their up coming festival! Details to come.

And along a similar path and repeating a bit of last year's history, Blooddrop will be sending  many giveaways for Contempt NY's Anniversary Party being held in September!

Ok, my pretties, I hope you're all having a good summer and perhaps some of you were able to catch the latest meteor shower that was earlier this week? And made some good wishes?
Check back for more updates!
